I read an interesting study recently. They tried multiple diet plans to determine which diets are most effective. What did they find? Funnily enough, the choice of diet doesn't matter. To lose weight, and keep it off, there is one diet you should stick to - your personalized diet plan.
What I mean by this is easy- don't trust the programs that say their new plan is the best way to lose weight. The most effective way is to exercise and eat healthy. If you find good foods that you enjoy, you will be able to start a lifestyle that is not only worth continuing, but you will want to continue.
Eat the foods that you love, but keep them healthy and remember not to over consume. People tend to over intellectualize weight loss when in reality it's not that mind boggling. Burn more calories than you eat. That's it, that's the golden formula. Whether you like steaks and want to go for the high protein, low carb diet or are unwilling to give up pasta and bread, find what diet works best for you. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole wheat and raw foods. I'm not suggesting you need to eat just a raw foods diet, but like I said before - a general rule of thumb is the less ingredients the better. That means less processing, less chemicals, less bad stuff, more good and natural stuff.
Here's the rub. Find your own personalized diet plan that fits your needs. There are a ton of choices in your local market, so exhaust your options to find your optimal weight loss plan. Remember, stick to healthy diet plans and you will lose pounds.
